Patients


Patients have the right to:
bullet be registered with a general Practitioner;
bullet change Doctor if desired;
bullet be offered a health check on joining the Practice;
bullet receive emergency care at any time from the Practice;
bullet receive appropriate drugs and medicines;
bullet be referred for specialist or second opinion if they and the GP agree;
bullet have the right to view their medical record, subject to the relevant Acts and to;
bullet know that those working for the NHS are under legal obligation to keep the contents confidential.
 

 
With these rights come responsibilities and for the patient this means:
bullet be thoughtful of other patients and staff;
bullet be considerate and respectful, and show reasonable courtesy to those who are helping you;
bullet cancel appointments in good time if unable to attend;
bullet share your concerns and provide suggestions that will help provide quality care.
