Mourneside Medical Centre was officially
opened on 16th Sept 1994.
Dr Charles Sullivan who had recently retired from the
Practice after more than 40 years as a GP in the town performed
the ceremony.
The Centre provides up-to-date facilities in modern
health care and pledges to offer an
increased and improved service to its 10,600 patients.
It is situated at Ballycolman Avenue and houses the
training practice of
Dr James Gillespie,
Dr
Martin O'Neill,
Dr Diane Robinson,
Dr Brian Gallagher and
Dr
Heather Smyth.
The Practice decided to move to new premises due to lack
of space at Strabane Health Centre, where it
had been since 1979. The new Centre has been built on a site
originally occupied by the old
Bridgend Primary School.
